Open the door!

It's a common sight: sharing photos of a new girlfriend or boyfriend, a wedding, activities we engage in, moments of joy, or significant life events on Facebook.
We want the world to know we have found joy in doing something memorable with someone special. We take pleasure in sharing our excitement and achievements, whether they are our own or those of someone we know. We even use social media to "talk" to our partners, spouses or deceased loved ones, expressing our love or how much we miss them.
We receive numerous likes or attention when we post about our happiness, hurt, sadness, illness, or the death of someone dear to us. We post these messages so that everyone who “follows” our accounts will see it.
Almost anything goes nowadays – social media has become a platform without borders, where you can say and post whatever you like. However, there are some limits. Those of you who have had “followers” unfollow you, or “friends” who remain connected only because they lack the courage to “unfriend” you, or videos removed due to controversial topics, will understand.
I wonder, if Jesus had a Social Media account, who would be His followers and why?
Some of us might shy away from associating with Him, fearing that we would be seen as “radical” for Christ or that we would stand out as a Jesus follower, preferring instead to rather blend in with the world.
Perhaps some would “follow” Him on Facebook merely to appear as though they are His followers, rather than genuinely focusing on Him.
Think about it – there are those who “follow” social media influencers and comment on their posts, subtly hinting that they’ve read a book or attended a talk related to the topic being discussed, simply to attract attention from other followers.
We are in the last days! Reading Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Thessalonians, Corinthians, James, and Jude confirms this. Don’t overlook Revelation. I understand that many people are apprehensive and even frightened by what is written in Revelation. In fact, some avoid reading it altogether because they believe Jesus shouldn’t do the things revealed to us through John in this book.
As certain as this is the year 2024, and as sure as the sun and moon exist, so too will everything written in the remainder of the unfulfilled prophesies in the bible, including Revelation, come to pass. It’s not a scare tactic, it’s given to us so that everyone will know how things on this earth we know, will unfold and it’s a call to everyone who is not born again.
I’m not writing this to frighten you, but if it does have that effect, my prayer is that it will prompt you to turn to the Bible and start learning about the God who created you - He desire is for you to be with Him.

Jesus has given you a choice whether or not you will follow Him, for real - not as a Facebook follower or friend, but a real one. The Creator of the universe, the One who created you is yearning for a relationship with you. Yes you!
Revelation 3:20 (NIV): "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
What a glorious promise! Jesus isn’t playing knock-knock run - He will come into your life and dine with you if you open the door for Him. This is His loving desire to have fellowship and a relationship with you - yes with you.
I know this might sound like "Christian-speak," to some of you. Many are of the belief that we shouldn’t discuss such things openly in today's world, definitely not when it comes to the business world. Today, the general belief is that everyone should be free to do as they wish, as long as no one is offended. We are pressured to submit to the demands and rights of those who believe they have more power and authority than God.
But what about God? What do we think we will gain by prioritizing the opinions of others over standing up for what is right according to His Word? We often avoid confronting our own sin - those very actions that separate us from our loving God. We shy away from defending what is pure, just to avoid offending anyone who claims their "rights" in today's world.
Not opening the door is your choice. It means you are saying no to a life with Christ, it means you are saying no to everlasting life in the kingdom of light and that you choose a life in the kingdom of darkness - a final, irreversible destination. Because I walked on this path, it absolutely breaks my heart to know that people who know about Jesus, people who have Bibles, people who have access to the internet, people who wake up every day seeing God’s creation are still denying the truth that Jesus, God's only Son was sacrificed so that we could be saved from death. I knew this and still - I walked independently from God as if I was more important and I believed my destiny was in my hands.
People are still arguing about whether God exists or whether the Bible is true, relevant and current and intellectually argue about things that they don’t understand because they have denied themselves an intimate relationship with God. Time is running out for us to try to evade the truth.
Not long ago, I was lukewarm towards Jesus. I stood for little and fell for most things. He drew me close to Him and through His grace I am now able to share with you these words with one goal only: to glorify Him.
In John 6:44, Jesus said: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” God draws us, supernaturally or through a conversation with a friend about God, through a sermon on YouTube, or a believer sharing the Gospel, a song of worship. He draws you in through His beautiful creation - the splendour of a sunset, the life of rare creatures under the sea, the starry sky. God may be drawing you right now.
Most invitations come with a response deadline. Likewise, God's invitation will also reach a point where it will be too late. We are being drawn by God through grace and with His loving-kindness; today may be your day to RSVP to His call.
I am writing openly, with love and urgency: Jesus is knocking right now, wherever you are as you read this. He wants you to open the door. The choice is yours.
Please feel free to share this post with anyone you feel may benefit from this message.
