A new heart and a new spirit.

For a very long time, I searched in countless worldly places to fill the void I felt. If one avenue didn’t work, I would continue searching for another, but alas, nothing truly satisfied or quenched the deep need within me.
At the beginning of a new year, it is customary and kind to wish those we know – or even strangers who cross our path – a “happy new year.” However, for many, the search for something to fill the void continues long after the festive season has passed.
I know, like me, you have tried so many things. Perhaps you have read countless books, listened to numerous podcasts, and followed a plethora of advice in an attempt to find answers to the questions weighing on your heart. Perhaps you’ve sought ways to satisfy the insatiable need that remains unfulfilled.
You may have scrolled endlessly through Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, or X, only to switch it off feeling emptier than before. You may have enjoyed many drinks, lovely meals, sunshine, and music during this season, only to look back with a sense of longing, wishing you didn’t have to return to work. Whatever it was for you, if it has left you unsatisfied and still yearning for something more, I bring you good news – the best news you will ever hear.
There is an answer. Only one answer. One way, one truth, and one life that will satisfy your deepest needs: His name is Jesus.
Look at what God says in Ezekiel 36:26: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
Nothing else in the universe can give you such surety that you can be renewed. God said these words to Israel, yet, He can do the same for you.
I am a living testimony of these words. God has done exactly what He promised in Ezekiel for me. The person I was a year ago has been made new. I have received the gift of salvation, redemption, and everlasting life with Christ. This was not of myself, but a gift from God.
He longs for every single person to turn to Him so they too may receive this gift.
Last night, I prayed that every single person in the world would experience even just five minutes of God’s grace and love so that they will get to know Him.
My prayer is for everyone who denies Him, those blinded by the ruler of this world, those with hardened hearts, those who call themselves Christians but don’t have a relationship with Jesus, those who do not know for sure that when they die they will be with Christ, and those who give heed to deceiving spirits and love the world more than the Creator.
May you choose the truth this year.
May your heart of stone be replaced with a heart of flesh by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
May you crave a relationship with Him, so you too will experience the most extraordinary life in the Kingdom of God – a life beyond anything you could have ever imagined, a life with the Creator.
May you choose the only way, the only truth, and the only life.
May we experience God’s grace and power through world-wide revival this year.
